Shape of Speed

The Portland museum is featuring the coolest installation right now though september. It’s called, “The Shape of Speed.” Streamlined cars from the 1930’s and 40’s are the subject. I went with my meet up group that I’ve been a member of since last September. More of that in the following post! Now for some pictures…

1938 Tatra T77A

1934 Chrysler Imperial Series CV Airflow Coupe

Stayer Model 55

1937 Airomobile… Not sure why this one didn’t catch on…I think it’s cool!

1936 Stout Scarab

1938 Delahaye 135M Roadster

1939 Panhard and Levassor Type X81 Dynamic Sedan

1941 Chrysler Thunderbolt

1942 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Bertone Berlinetta…I could cruise through Tuscany in this!!

1938 Talbot Lago T150C-SS

1935 Bugatti Type 57 Aérolithe… This one is held together by rivets because the metal is Elektron…a highly flammable magnesium and aluminum alloy that was difficult to weld.

A spectacular installation Portland Museum!!
